From the start, Harvel® has been devoted to the quality of its products.

Its comprehensive quality program has always been based on the continuous improvement tools of Total Quality Management (TQM) and Statistical Process Control (SPC). Harvel was the first in its industry to achieve ISO 9001 quality certification. ISO certification represents just one more benchmark for Harvel products – known throughout the industry for reliable quality. www.harvel.com

Harvel’s original headquarters factory was built more than 35 years ago in Easton, Pa., it has since expanded to encompass a quarter of a million square feet. Our new plant, warehouse and distribution center in Bakersfield, Calif. – serving the US West and Pacific Rim – affirm the company’s position as a worldwide leader. Wherever produced, Harvel pipe and extrusions embody the highest standards of quality. Today continuous dedication to those standards reinforces Harvel’s reputation as The Quality Line producer.

Harvel Plastics has always been a leader in refining and perfecting extruded plastics and the products made from them. Harvey Wismer, Harvel’s founder, helped develop and produce the nation’s first PVDC (CPVC) pipe nearly 45 years ago. Because of CPVC’s superior high-temperature strength, it is used today in tens of thousands of applications around the world.

Nearly two decades ago, for instance, Harvel was one of the first to develop BlazeMaster® specialty plastics for fire sprinkler applications; the company’s broad experience with CPVC piping and its proven dedication to quality have been part of the successful introduction of CPVC to the sprinkler industry. In fact, many of the first tests UL performed on fire sprinkler systems employed pipe produced by Harvel.

During the years since, Harvel has achieved many more firsts. It was the first in the industry to earn ISO 9001 certification and the first in the U.S. with Canadian standards approval. Placing the industry’s first site on the Internet, Harvel provides engineers with useful, accessible specifications and tech support.

A burst of creative product development has also followed. Harvel has introduced well-received products such as Clear PVC pipe for use in semiconductor, sight-glass and dual-containment applications; large-diameter heavy-wall pressure pipe through 24 inches; FlameTech™ low flame and smoke translucent containment piping; large-diameter PVC and CPVC duct for corrosive fume handling applications; as well as new materials, sizes and configurations of quality extruded machining shapes and profiles.

But a growing product line is only part of the story. Just as important is a practice founded with the company – an unconditional commitment to customer service. Harvel’s technical engineering and sales support relies on unparalleled staff experience and intensive field training. The sales support team responds promptly, professionally and correctly to all customer requests.

Innovation combined with experience and concern for the customer – these are the elements that make Harvel the leader it is today.
